99% Non-GMO Corn Grain Program Requirements



1. Application Requirements
a. Application for field inspection for each hybrid/variety is required 

b. Kind and variety of previous crop 

c. Signature on application will be a declaration that variety meets known non-GMO status

2. Seed Source Requirements
All seed must be from a known source. The following must be provided: 

a. Invoices with hybrid/variety name and lot numbers 

b. A test confirming non-GMO status is recommended although not required

3. Land Requirements
a. Corn shall be grown on land in which the previous crop was of another kind or previously inspected same variety 

b. A crop will not be eligible for IP program if a genetically modified crop that produces seed was grown the previous year

4. Field Requirements

a. Isolation 
1. A distance of 660 feet from any GMO corn is required 

2. For fields over 20 acres distance may be modified by post pollination removal of 16 adjacent rows if isolation is less than 165 feet. 

3. For fields over 20 acres distance may be modified by post pollination removal of eight adjacent rows if isolation is between 165 and 660 feet. 

4. A distance adequate to prevent mechanical mixture shall separate fields from any other seed-producing crop. 
b. Field Inspections 
1. Fields must be inspected during pollination period to determine possible isolation problems. 

2. Field not meeting field requirements may require re-inspection for post pollination removal of adjacent rows for isolation correction

5. Sampling

An authorized agency representative shall take samples. Lot size and sample size will be based on amount of product available, container, bin or transportation size. Check with inspection agency for specific size requirements.


6. Testing Requirements

a. Agency approved laboratories must be used. 

b. An agency approved Non-GMO test will be required. 

c. Purity test will be required for other crop contaminates.

7. Grain Standards (Maximum allowed)
a. Other crop 0.5% 

b. GMO 1% 

c. Total of other crop and GMO cannot exceed one percent.
